Så gör du pseudorörelse i GIF-
animationer med PhotoShop och ImageReady

There are few things which are as entertaining as fooling the mind, as here with the pseudo movement above. You can now avoid an epileptic seizure by clicking your browser's stop button.

It's not that hard to accomplish pseudo movement in GIF animations. The animation above actually consists only of two picture frames, but still gives the impression of an eternal aimed movement.

Start PhotoShop (which I take for granted that you have some knowledge about already) and I'll show you how to do.

First you take two pictures; two steps in an animated sequence. Copy these images as four layers in one single image file. Then jump to ImageReady: File > Jump to > Adobe ImageReady.

Det är inte så svårt att åstadkomma pseudo-rörelse i GIF-animationer. Animationen här ovanför består egentligen bara av två bildrutor, men ger trots det intrycket av en evig riktad rörelse.

Kör igång PhotoShop (vilket jag tar för givet att du har någorlunda kunskaper om redan) så ska jag visa hur du gör.

Först fixar du två bilder; två steg i en animerad sekvens. Kopiera dessa som fyra layers i en och samma bild. Sedan hoppar du till ImageReady: File > Jump to > Adobe ImageReady.

This is how the animation looks like in ImageReady. You'll need four animation frames. In frame 2 the fly and the putti has been moved just a tad forward compared to frame 1.

Så här ser animationen ut i ImageReady. Det behövs fyra animationsrutor. I ruta 2 har flugan och puttin flyttats ett fåtal pixlar framåt i jämförelse med ruta 1.

Frame 1 and 3 are exactly the same, except that I've done Image > Adjust > Invert (which makes the image negative) and Image > Adjust > Desaturate (which turns the image black and white) to frame 3. Same goes with frames 2 and 4. You can keep the negative images colorized, but then the animation will flicker even more.

That's it. Gulp down some cough medicine, sit down and watch, and this weekend's entertainment is taken care of for you.

Ruta 1 och 3 är likadana förutom att jag kört Image > Adjust > Invert (vilket gör bilden negativ) samt Image > Adjust > Desaturate (bilden blir svartvit) på ruta 3. Samma sak med ruta 2 och 4. Det går att ha kvar färgerna på den negativa bilden men då blir animationen ännu mer flimmrig.
