Enemies are good for the career but bad for the stomach. Why? Well, it works like this: When someone sees two who quarrel this someone just have to take position for one side or the other. It's impossible to just drop it, reason that "..those two don't agree, but it's none of my business so I don't care". It's easy to take a stand if the quarrel is about matters of taste - such as art and music - and particulary if the attacker is an imbecile and a loudmouth, if that's the case then it's even easier to start liking the things this imbecile dislikes. When one doesn't want anything to do with the imbecile then there's probably some value in what the imbecile doesn't like. Many good careers have been nurtured and risen to unforeseen heights this way.
