Patience Killed the Dream
2008
38 X 48 cm (14'' X 18'')
Paint and glitter on board

I had some doubts regarding painting this vision. The reason for this doubt is - if we are to start from the beginning - that in previous times there were in each civilisation, outside the majority of profanum vulgus (muggles) a lot of village idiots, some shamans, a few wizards and perhaps one and another occasional god. So it is still this day, these archetypes are still alive among us, but these ancient titles have now been bundled up into the concept "artist".
The logical consequence of this is of course that art is magic - you get what you paint - in one way or another. And the art you surround you with affect you. The paintings of today are the future - literally speaking. Which explains why so many artists have lived and died poor and unhappy; without insight regarding their own powers they have painted desolate landscapes, their psychoses or just nonsense with ruin as the ultimate consequence. Just look at what the futurists caused!
But it's all a matter of interpretations, it's about how the piece is read. If the envisioned spell is impossible or can be interpreted in several ways the magic seek alternative ways - usually the one with least physical resistance - to fulfil it. So, perhaps this painting brings good things anyway.

It feels as tho he's tired of waiting...n finally he's taking the plunge into the unknown, something he's been so terrified of before.i only have admiration for him.

Dead Funny
2008

Oil and acrylics on board

An exclusive club for dead people; there they sit, excessively amused by the doings of the living. If this painting is hung opposite The Laughter - which takes place among us, the living - an interesting scene will take shape.

The Laughter
2008
89 X 110 cm (35'' X 43'')
Oil and acrylics on board

So, you were the only one laughing - don't be ashamed! Look at people! Opinions are indeed no answer; With your feet firmly on the ground and your head in the clouds it's most likely that you were the only one clever enough to get it.

Oil and acrylic on wood, gloss varnish.

Prophets, shamans and wizards are not characters from the past. These days are all those artists.
