Wow! Here's a man stuck in his misery and a woman minding her own business. And so much red; red shading washing all over the red headed woman in the red room, Red for anger? for passion? for blood? is it her's? is it his?, or both of theirs' intermixed? The woman has a secret admirer: a dog..no it's a WOLF! But it's not showng its teeth, just being loyal and quiet, while watchful, dignified and handsome. With a pet like that no wonder the man feels cut out. Its so ambigous, and simutaneously warm and fuzzy, I love it!

Well, they are alone at last and he wants to go over and talk to her. But he is too afraid of being rejected. She wants him too, but she needs him to make the first move. She is so lonely. And she knows that if he doesn't find the strength to move, this could be their last chance. She thinks of a future alone without love. But she finds comfort in knowing that she always has her dog for companionship. She pets the dog and it is content and unaware of the hot red pain that consumes her. And still the man sits, unable to move even though the hot red pain consumes him too.
At least, that is the way I see it. Another very intriguing painting.
