THE AMBASSADOR OF THE ELEPHANTS

older art - paintings and sculptures.

A man, the artist, sits on the floor and is unpacking a painting from a box. Behind him stands some kind of angelic being. An elephant breaks through the door.

This painting has its origin in a dream I had some years ago. I had the same dream three times the same night. In the dreams I was sitting down on the floor and was unpacking something from a box. The story of the dreams was the same, although the environment shifted. I'm unable to recall the enviroment in the first dream but in the second I was located in a middle size storehouse with a concrete floor. In the last of the three dreams I was in the hallway of my studio/workshop. When I was doing this unpacking job I suddenly heard a powerful voice behind me, the voice proclaimed:

In the year of 1999 a radical painting was displayed at Café Terra, showing the birth of a star. And then the ambassador of the elephants will arrive.

When the "angel", or whatever it was, finished talking there was a loud crash and an elephant ran through the wall. Then I woke up. And as told; this was repeated three times the same night.

When looking at the aftermath I realize that the dream pointed at the fact that that period was a time of transition regarding my art when I decided to dedicate my work only to paint the visions I see instead of constructing, make up, images.

DINOSAUR PAINTING (?)

Technique / material: Acrylic on panel
Size: 122*122 cm (48*48")

This was the painting which gave the "Dino Bar" in Sundsvall its name. Nowadays are both the painting and the bar with all its scandals forgotten and gone without any traces. From time to time they show up with some art dealer who then call me asking what they are worth.
